THE NEW MASS TRANSLATION The Sanctus (Holy Holy Holy)

We will notice very few changes to this part of the Mass other than the first line which speaks of “Lord God of hosts” again a change to reflect more accurately the Latin . the reference to hosts is not a reference to power as we had in the previous translation but a reference to the hosts of angels which surround God in heaven.

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts.

Heaven and earth are full of your glory.

Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest.

CATHOLIC NEWSPAPERS

Many thanks are due to the few parishioners who staff the piety stall each week Your help would be much appreciated If you were able to assist at one of the Masses.

I would encourage parishioners to fully support Catholic media by buying one of the papers on Sundays. Each week the parish loses around £50 through unsold and unreturnable papers. From next month I have no other option than to reduce the number of papers on order.

SPUC

Next weekend Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd October 2011. The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children will make their annual outdoor “White Flower” appeal after all Masses. Your continuing generosity to the parish and to the charitable causes we support, is most appreciated.
